Drug Tests

Recently there have been thoughts about drug testing people who receive welfare. In the article "States Adding Drug Test as Hurdle for Welfare"A. G. Sulzberger discusses the many views on drug testing welfare recipients. In my opinion drug testing welfare recipients is completely logical. You can choose to believe whatever you want when it comes to drugs and people who receive welfare. Whether you believe this or not, it still makes perfect sense to test anyone who receives welfare just to be safe. Just as discussed in the article I do believe that it is highly unlikely that people on welfare are doing drugs. Of course they don't receive much money as it is so why would they even think to do drugs. This statement makes a valid point but so does the statement if you can make ends meet you can find a way to get a fix. If people really are not doing drugs and receiving welfare it will still be okay. The article speaks about a 40 dollar fee for your drug test and being refunded that money if you pass. If this is really the case then you should be okay with finding the forty dollars to only be refunded it. However if you are using drugs then you shouldn't be on welfare at all. You can pay for drugs but you aren't capable of pay for food and a home. That in itself is ridiculous. The drug tests will allow for people who shouldn't be on welfare to be singled out. One article reads "Thirty-two applicants failed the test and more than 7,000 have passed, according to the Department of Children and Families"(Associated Press), when considering this text you'll realize that most people aren't on drugs. After noticing this you can understand why people can get over the fact of drug testing because they know they will able to pass. We as citizens should also be for this decision so we aren't paying tax dollars for some druggies. Testing welfare recipients should be mandatory because it could down on tax payers money being wasted and getting people out of the welfare system.

Off-shore Drilling

In the article Us to Open Areas to Offshore Drilling by John M Broder the topic of oil drilling offshore is heavily debated. Environmentalists couldn't be more against this plan while the oil industries are jumping the gun to make this happen. When choosing the offshore drilling there are many factors that need to be thoroughly considered in order to make that decision. You should evaluate the oil spill of 2010, the costs to open up these sites, and whether or not this action is beneficial to the United states. First really realize the prior accident of offshore drilling.
In the oil spill of 2010 things were horrific.Oil was everywhere and even the animals were being harmed. Obviously something had gone with the procedure of storing this oil and things got bad really quickly. When you analyze this situation you begin to realize that maybe offshore drilling is actually quite bad. At the same time you must realize that in the article itself it does say that there will be no such thing as no risk oil drilling. Accidents can and do happen just as displayed in the oil spill of 2010. With this being stated you as the reader should realize that no matter what happens oil spills are happening all around the world so the US isn't going to be alone. Rather than not going along with it you should accept the fact that there will be this kind of danger everywhere. Once you begin to except that oil spills are apart of life then you'll wonder about costs of opening up a drilling site.
Now that you are wondering about the costs you may be thinking how high or how low. Although the prices of offshore drilling is not specified we all expect it to be a pretty penny. Though it may be a chunk of change it will be worth it in the long run. Just think of the United States being self-sufficient. We wouldn't have to pay as much for the gas to fill our tanks. We also wouldn't have to worry about importing as much oil as we do now. If we start opening up offshore drilling sites we can create more jobs in this poor economy. The economy would benefit from this and so would we. Next is the most important factor of all being whether offshore drilling is really beneficial.
Oil drilling is absolutely beneficial given most of the examples above. Especially for the fact that we as Americans need to be more dependent on ourselves for oil. In the Pros/Cons of Offshore Oil Drilling wrtiten by a blogger named Mark Hutcherson who writes about daily news says "the United States needs to produce more of our own crude oil, so we are not so dependent on foreign imports".(Hutcherson) This statement in fact is so true. I could guarantee that if you asked many Americans where you could produce oil from in the United States they wouldn't even know where to answer. Then they would probably say someone where in the Middle East and ignore the state question. In realizing this you see that oil drilling is really beneficial. Especially if it will help lower gas prices because we desperately need that in the United States.

Will Dropouts Save America

According to this article the dropouts of America are carrying us to greatness. Because most of the people who created much of what we use is now were dropouts; he believes that college isn't as important than everyone makes it out to be. Day in day out entrepreneurs start businesses without and without college degrees. With that being said I do believe that college degrees are very important. College degrees help you expand in life so many different ways. In which case this Ellsberg should not be encouraging people to not go to college.

Ellsberg mentions how all these famous people without degrees have done so much. Of course I realize that yes they have done a lot for us. Many people are out fighting out Macs and the same amount of people are at home using Microsoft pcs. What people don't get is that none of this stuff is really important. The people with degrees are doctors and lawyers, people we actually need. Of course these people also use what the college dropouts make but the difference is we actually need these people. We don't need Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. We need a doctor or a fire fighter to save the children in America when we are in need. Ellsberg also pointed out the fees it costs to go to college. These college dropouts wasted money when they dropped out. They are the reason we are in such a bad economy now. They should have stayed in school and payed off their debts. Now the parents are out money and so is the government. The dropouts don't really benefit anyone. All they do is make things we love to use while they make money. On the other hand people who do go to college are highly successful. Consider the line “companies started by college graduates were twice as successful in sales and employment compared to companies started by dropouts or who didn’t enroll in college". (Shane) So in the long run when you go to college and then start your own you will be able to earn more than the people who didn't go. Sure may not have such an exciting job but you'll be doing what you love and making more profit than the next amateur who didn't go to college.

Lady Gaga. Gaga. Stephanie. Stephanie Germanotta. The girl who was seen on boiling points. The multimillion dollar pop star that comes up with new music every day. An advocate for the LGBT community. Whoever you know her as; the point is you probably know her. What I don't get is what all this hype is about is? I mean she's basically just a cheap imitation of Madonna. I mean sure she's supposed to stand for all these good things but lack of better words she's just a hussy in a meat suit.

Everyone these days just loves Lady Gaga. Everyone thinks that her music is fantastic. Most people think she is just this great person because of the fact that she supports all sexual orientations. When in all reality Lady Gaga's music pretty horrible. Her music is repetitive and basically talks about nothing. She talks about pretty pointless things. She's just a poor excuse for a music artist. She's not really that great of a singer and in reality she's a rude sour woman. She has been caught badmouthing Adele in an interview. She's said to have been rude to her fans. Lady Gaga is not really worth all the hype she's been given. Everyone likes her because she's supposedly "different". When really she's trying so hard not to fit in that she isn't different at all. She shows up in all these inventive outfits. Her hairdos are supposed to be these complicated things. If you really look at her all of her outfits are trash and her hairdos are all beehives. Lady Gaga isn't really a celebrity. She's just a confused hussy that happened to get famous.

Polygamy

Recently the TV show Sister Wives has come and many people have had different views on it. If you aren't familiar with the show then I'll brief you on it. The show is about a man who chooses to live the polygamist lifestyle. He has a total of four wives with 16 children. They used to live in a house together but have recently broken in to 4 different houses. The husband is responsible for moving to house to house in order to see each of the wives and their kids. The biggest issue with this show is obviously that both the husband and the wives have chosen to live a polygamist lifestyle. Polygamy meaning having multiple life partners.

Of course the majority of people are saying that this is wrong. They often say that the Bible doesn't allow for this type of love. There are many excuses as to why people think this is wrong. Notice the word excuses because they purely are excuses. People are allowed to do whatever they want and when they want so long as they aren't hurting anyone. This means that the sister wives and their husband along with any other polygamists should be ignored and be allowed to do what they want. I believe that everyone has a right to choice. Choice including any and everything that you chose to do with "your" life. If this polygamy is legal then obviously it isn't a problem. If it wasn't legal then it still isn't a problem. The people reciting Bible verses need to sit down reread the Bible because it doesn't teach you to be rude and judgmental.

She Left

Here I am all alone. She left me to go have a sleepover with her friends. She's going to something called Scary Acres. She better have fun because now I'm alone. She left me with her mom who’s in the living room and is not paying attention to me. I'm sitting on top of her nightstand and there is absolutely nothing to do. Nothing for me to erase and nothing for me to correct. I'm hoping she comes home soon. It's only been a couple hours and I'm starting to get bored. I wish there was something to do. Instead I have to stay here in solitude.

Some Friends

I made some friends today. My new owner just put me in her backpack and there lie new friends for me. They all treated me kindly and greeted me wonderfully. There was an English grammar book in there and she told me I had nice eyes. Her pink notebook said that she was happy to have someone new to talk to. Even the purple notebook had nothing but nice things to say. I was delighted when I these people because I thought I would just be lonely. When I was in that other girl's bag she just had me in a little confined area. I had no one to talk to and I was just in a black hole. Now at least I can enjoy myself in this new bag.

Who Am I?

What kind of eraser am I you say ? I'm just a regular old pink eraser from Clean and Clear. I'm called Pink Eraser. There isn't anything special about me. I just erase nothing less and nothing more. When people see me they don't think of anything else of me. I'm mostly used on term papers and meaningless projects. I'm pretty much affordable and no one eve hesitates to buy me. Some kids chew me and other kids just rip me to shreds. Sometimes I'm even thrown at other people for fun. Kids like to trade me sometimes and some kids actually value me. Some kids are actually lost without me. They can't live without their eraser. They need me in order to function in class. What can I say ? I'm just your regular old eraser. A pretty timeless item I might add.

Hmm An Eraser

Deep in a dark dark world there lived a magical tool. In this world there were many other tools like it but this one different. What is this tool you ask? This tool is called an eraser. The world that the eraser inhabit is called Pentel. In Pentel only the most effective erasers live. All the erasers here are white crisp blocks. These blocks come impeccably wrapped in a blue and white package. This package allows only one end of the eraser to be exposed. Erasers like these can't afford for both ends to be dirty. It's unheard here in the land of Pentel. Erasers here are only used by the cream of the crop. You have to be the most skilled artist, the most successful doctor or even the smartest mathematician. You just can't be an mindless eight year old and use erasers from Pentel. You can't bestow your hands upon this high quality hi-polymer eraser. These erasers erase completely with no effort at all you. Having this eraser in your possession makes any task that much easier.

Charlie Sheen

We all know who Charlie Sheen is right? He's always talking about winning or "twinning" for that matter. He's known for drinking tiger's blood and doing insane amounts of coke. He's also known for being associated with multiple prostitutes and just all around being all around outrageous. Aside from all the outrageous claims, he's most known for being on the TV show Two and a Half Men. Of course he was recently killed off the show because of the way he carrying himself. My question is who cares? Or another question could be should he have been killed off on the show? Everyone was really in an uproar about his tweets and they were almost excited that he was off the show.

Guess what? He's due for his own show know so now what. I could really care less what Charlie Sheen doing and who he is doing it with for that matter. This goes back to my post about Senator Wiener. People do the same things that Charlie are doing everyday if not more outrageous and nobody pays attention to them. Now can someone tell me exactly what the big deal is? There is no big deal. Again people just need to mind their business a let life go on. Of course it won't happen because what Charlie is doing is said to be so hostile and heinous. My biggest issue with everything that is closely related to these situations is why don’t us normal people get this kind of publicity. Celebrities are just like you or I and shouldn’t be receiving any kind of special treatment. Giving him all this publicity doesn't make anything any better. Everyone should just him be.

The Death Penalty

Everybody knows about the age old debate of the death penalty. You either have death by the chair or by lethal injection. Most people say that it's cruel and inhumane. No matter what the crime people usually believe that the death penalty is wrong and it should never happen. I'm still wondering exactly what kind of sense that makes. Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but at what point does it become ridiculous.

I personally am pro-death penalty. I'm pro death penalty for endless reasons. To think that someone could brutally murder a family and just get sent to jail is astounding. To think that a little girl could be raped and have her innocence taken away without any justice is absolutely horrible. The death penalty was not invented just to not be used. People constantly argue that don't you think it's better to give them a life sentence in jail and them rot away. NO! This is not even close to the truth. You don't rot away in jail at all. You are still able to contact your family and receive visits. You are still able to eat, drink and pee. You basically live in luxury if anything. You rarely do anything for yourself and you get free time to go out and play ball. What kind of logic is this? Now take into consideration that the person that was killed can no longer see their family let alone spend time with them. The person who is dead can no longer eat, drink and pee. That little kid can no longer go out and play ball like you. That person's life is gone forever. The person who was raped will also be mentally and physically scarred forever. Also the death penalty is the right choice because the person who commits such heinous acts may end up dead in jail anyway. The people in jail cells also could believe in the death penalty and kill you because they feel so strongly. I also personally believe that if you are going to kill someone so brutally than you should be killed the same exact way but of course that isn’t humane, so you might as well just get right in that chair. If you’re going to rape someone brutally then of course you should be raped twice as bad but of course that isn't humane, so just hop right into that chair. No matter what I will always believe in the death penalty because it’s the most humane thing to do rather than killing the killer yourself.

I'm Excited

It's my last day in this house! I'm so excited. I mean I'm pretty sure it's my last day. She was talking about it to her friend Ashley. She was talking about how she was so excited to get rid of me. She said that I was a pointless piece of crap to write about. Despite what she says I don't care. I'm just as ready to get out of this house just as much as she is ready to get rid of me. My cold is almost gone and I'm excited to meet someone new. Maybe I'll be in front of a window where I can get some sunlight. This almost makes me wonder if she treats all of her other belongings this way. Either way I'm so ready to get out of this house and to do something new.

Sick

I think I'm starting to fall apart. It's damp dark and cold in this little box that she has me stored in. I'm starting to get the sniffles. I can't smell anymore which makes me nervous. My eyes are heavy and I'm always sneezing. I have a pretty heavy cough and I have a headache. Not to mention this never ending rain. I'm not sure when the last time I actually witnessed that thing called sunlight. Since I'm right next to her window I can see what's going on out of this little crack in my little home. I wish she would take me out and tend to me a bit. My string is drenched in snot because I've been using it to wipe my nose. My otherwise clear complexion is become green from the sneezing and snot. This sickness is starting to get the best of me. I need some fluids. Maybe orange some juice? I just need something. Of course though I'm not going to get any because she doesn't pay any attention to me. Each day I'm getting that more restless. I really think I need to see a doctor. Maybe my next owner will take some care of me. I think I'll get some shut eye now considering that's the only thing I can do now.

Living A Brighter Life

Another day another boring outcome. Here I am just being my normal self wishing just to do something different. I'm always complaining about being an iPod case but I really do want to be something else. We've already went over that I at least want to be a different color or a new model. Now I just want to do bigger and better things. Why can't I just be the iPod itself? Why can't I even be the maker of the iPods? I don't mind being involved with the iPod, but I'd rather have a more important job. Living this life is just so boring. Can someone just make me into something else.  Something more important and something worth wanting to keep.  Something more attractive and something edgy. The life I live is starting to get very old and repetitive especially in this house. What can I do in this boring dark room? I'm contemplating on just leaving and starting a new life.
